Just now it was smiling there,
Mother, where has the moon gone?
Mother said, “Look up in the sky,
the wandering clouds are passing by.
A black cloud turned into a bear,
and hid away your moon so fair.”
In the moon’s plate was kept honey,
the bear licked it up—how funny!
Then the bear ran away in haste,
a lovely fairy came with grace.
Singing songs so sweet and bright,
she drove away the moon’s sulk that night.
In her lap the moon then lay,
what a beautiful scene, I must say!
But then a dinosaur came in sight,
the fairy fled, the moon felt fright.
A gust of wind with just one blow,
chased the dinosaur far below.
The moon then said, “Oh wind, my friend,
stop a while—let’s play till day’s end.”
